Jacob Alves is a Senator and chair of a secret Senate committee convened to hear testimony from Tess Dixon who has information about a conspiracy to assassinate world leaders and take control of the international currency regulation system. He is probably the only such chairman to have one of his committee member commit suicide in his committee chamber.
